Orders to the Great Place? This is the housing side of your move — town by town around one of the largest military installations in the United States — from a brokerage built by a family that has made this exact move, more than once.
Fort Cavazos — home of the III Armored Corps across more than 200,000 acres of Central Texas — was renamed in May 2023 for General Richard E. Cavazos, the Army's first Hispanic four-star general. If your orders, your sponsor, or your search bar still say Fort Hood, it is the same post, the same gates, and the same roads. Which town around it you choose shapes your whole tour:
The post's front door — the largest city in the area, the shortest commutes to the main cantonment, and the deepest stock of rentals and first homes.
West of post. Cove families get small-town quiet, a strong community feel, and easy access to the installation's west side.
East of Killeen — the area's newest subdivisions and retail growth, a popular landing for senior NCOs and officers.
Further east on I-14: small-city life, Belton ISD, and Temple's medical center — a longer but easy highway commute.
Infinity Family Properties & Associates is led by Ian Alkire — 14 years in the U.S. Army, retired Sergeant First Class, then five years with the Department of Homeland Security — and his wife Jazmene "Jazz" Alkire, our Broker of Record. Between them: four-plus years deployed, and more Permanent Change of Station moves than they can count on one hand. This brokerage was built for the move you are making, by people who have made it — and Fort Cavazos is the northern anchor of the corridor we work every day.
Ian and Jazz are also listed on VeteranPCS's Texas page, a national directory of veteran and military-spouse agents — one more place military families find us, and check us out, before they ever call.

Is Fort Cavazos the same post as Fort Hood?
Yes. The installation was renamed Fort Cavazos in May 2023, honoring General Richard E. Cavazos. The gates, roads, units, and addresses did not change — only the name on the sign. Orders and older documents may still say Fort Hood; both names mean this post.
Where do most families live off post?
In the ring of towns around the cantonment: Killeen for the shortest commute, Copperas Cove to the west, Harker Heights and Nolanville for the newest growth to the east, and Belton or Temple for small-city life further out. On-post housing exists too — many families still buy off post because local prices work on a Fort Cavazos BAH.
Can you help us buy before we arrive in Fort Cavazos?
Yes. Most of our relocating families start remote: video walk-throughs, honest condition notes, and a contract timeline built backwards from your report date. You should never buy a house sight-unseen without someone on the ground whose only job is your side of the table.
What does it cost to work with you on a relocation?
Buyer representation is spelled out in writing before we start — who pays what, and how much. No surprises at the closing table, and no stack of third-party fees added on top: we are not tied into any vendor for leads, and we never tack a lead fee onto your transaction.
